You Can Now Find Treats Inspired By New York City’s Most Famous Ice Cream Shop At The Grocery Store
This is great news!
If you’re an ice cream lover (and I’m going to take a wild guess that you are), chances are you’ve heard of Serendipity 3, the iconic New York City restaurant. Not only was it the filming location of the 2001 romantic comedy “Serendipity,” but it is home to some world-famous desserts that have customers lining up outside the doors to taste.
If you don’t have a trip to New York City in your future, though, I have some fantastic news: Serendipity 3 has partnered with new company, Serendipity Brands, and pints of ice cream based on their desserts are now available nationwide!
The line features eight flavors inspired by Serendipity 3’s popular desserts on the restaurant menu, including their iconic Frrrozen Hot Chocolate, which has been served at the restaurant more than 25 million times. Reminiscent of the dessert you’d find in the restaurant, the Frrrozen Hot Chocolate flavor ice cream is made with hot chocolate-flavored ice cream, a whipped cream swirl, and chocolate shavings.
Other flavors include: Birthday Day, Café Espresso Chip, Strawberry Fields Sundae, Outrageous Banana Split, Forbidden Broadway Sundae, Humble Pie, and Vanilla Vogue.
Taking a look at Serendipity 3’s menu, it’s easy to see the Forbidden Broadway Sundae flavor was inspired by the sundae of the same name on the menu, which has chocolate blackout cake, ice cream, hot fudge, and whipped cream. The Strawberry Fields Sundae is also on the menu and includes cheesecake, strawberry ice cream, strawberry topping, and whipped cream. Take a look at how epic the actual sundae is in this photo Serendipity 3 posted on Instagram:
History Of Serendipity 3
With a history spanning 65 years, Serendipity 3 says just some of their famous fans past and present included Marilyn Monroe, Grace Kelly, Cary Grant, Kim Kardashian-West, Oprah Winfrey, Beyoncé, and Cher. And now, we can all partake in the history and nostalgia of the tasty treat!
“One of Serendipity 3’s long-time customers Andy Warhol once said, ‘The idea of waiting for something makes it more exciting,’ and that’s exactly how our team feels about the launch of our new super premium line of ice cream,” Mark Smolin, CEO of Serendipity Brands, said in a press release. “The wait is finally over and we couldn’t be more thrilled that for the first time our fans outside of New York City and across the United States will now be able to enjoy these iconic dessert flavors right from their own freezer.”
While many of the desserts available at Serendipity 3 are pushing around $20 each — hey, it’s New York City, after all — the Serendipity Brand pints have a suggested retail price of $5.99. They are available now at participating 7-Eleven, ShopRite, and Morton Williams locations nationwide.
