Under Armour Designed A Face Mask For Working Out
These are the face masks we've been waiting for!
Face masks are now an everyday essential item, which can be a slight hassle for certain people — like those who wear glasses or people who exercise outdoors. After all, face masks can quickly get hot, sweaty and uncomfortable. But skipping out altogether isn’t necessarily a smart move.
Per the CDC’s recommendations, it’s important to wear cloth face coverings when you leave your house in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus, particularly “in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain,” such as in grocery stores and pharmacies.
There’s still some debate about when to exercise with a face mask. But depending on where and when you run, a face mask may be the responsible way to go. And now, there’s a comfortable mask made just for outdoor exercise, thanks to Under Armour.
Under Armour released the new Sportsmask, a face mask designed specifically for athletes. The washable cloth mask is water-resistant, cooling and breathable, so your face can remain as comfortable as possible during your workout — while also keeping you and those around you safe. The Sportsmask also comes with a moldable nose-bridge to keep it in place, which helps prevent glasses from fogging (phew!).
“At Under Armour, we always want to be part of the solution, especially during this extremely challenging time,” Under Armour CEO Patrik Frisk said in a press release. “We specifically designed this mask for athletes and for all of us who want to exercise and train while also keeping ourselves, and those around us, safe.”
The mask consists of three layers “engineered for athletes during performance,” per the press release. The company has been working on the design for months, ever since they switched gears to begin producing masks for healthcare workers in mid-March.
You can buy the Under Armour Sportsmask online for $30. It comes in three different sizes, and more colors are due to drop this summer and fall.
