Ann and Gussie Crumby have been by each other’s sides their entire lives. These twin sisters lived through a lot together, and they recently celebrated their 102nd birthday. Although their birthday was in May, they celebrated with their families on Sept. 8. Despite their longevity, these twins say they still feel young at heart.
“I don’t even know I’m old,” Ann said, according to USA Today.
“I still feel young. I don’t feel no different than I did [than] when I was 101,” added Gussie.
The pair grew up in Hancock County, Georgia, where they were raised by their grandmother on a farm. Both sisters became seamstresses. Both married, and Gussie moved to Washington County, where she and her husband raised their children. Ann never had children, and she and her husband moved to New York.
Although they were separated by distance for many years, they reunited in the late 1990s and have been inseparable ever since. They even dressed alike for their birthday celebration, down to matching red manicures.
Here they are talking to 13WMAZ about their tight bond throughout their long lives:
How sweet! The Crumby sisters are not the only set of twins to make it the 100-year mark and celebrate in style. Last year, Brazilian twin sisters Maria Pignaton Pontin and Paulina Pignaton Pandolfi celebrated their 100th birthday. In honor of their milestone occasion, they participated in a beautiful photo shoot.
Here they are holding hands and looking absolutely adorable in flower crowns, shirts that say “100” and contrasting pink and blue tutus:
Their sisterly bond really shines through! I can only imagine how amazing it must be to make it a century or more with your twin by your side.
Here’s to all the twins out there who are lucky enough to have someone who knows them inside and out to share their lives with!
