Toll House Is Introducing Ready-To-Eat Cookie Dough Bites With A Chocolate Shell
Yum! These look delicious!
Despite knowing we shouldn’t and even with the CDC telling us not to, it can still be seriously tempting to eat raw cookie dough.
It’s not just a patience issue, as it doesn’t take that long to bake cookies. Raw cookie dough also tastes different than it does when it’s baked, and it’s so good! So having to mix it up and not take a taste is harder than it seems.
Luckily, it is possible to make edible cookie dough and a number of brands have begun doing so as well — so we can all safely eat the dough without worrying about the risks.
The latest comes from Nestlé Toll House, which just created edible, bite-sized chocolate chip cookie dough that is also wrapped inside a rich, chocolatey shell. Meant to be eaten by the handful or even as a topping on ice cream, the new treats have no artificial flavors, colors or preservatives.
A Nestlé Toll House spokesperson tells us the new bite-sized chocolate chip cookie dough will be available in the refrigerated section at select Sam’s Club locations nationwide beginning in October. The product will expand to additional retailers next year. The suggested retail price for a 20-ounce bag is $9.98, but prices may vary by retailer.
While this is the first bite-sized edible cookie dough from Nestlé Toll House, it is not their first edible cookie dough offering. The brand released edible chocolate chip and peanut butter cookie dough last year and added Funfetti and fudge brownie batter in January. These edible doughs arrive in a container similar to a pint of ice cream, so they are meant to be eaten with a spoon.
Other brands offering edible cookie dough include The Cookie Dough Cafe, which has a handful of flavors that include confetti cake and Oreo. And along with two new holiday flavors of their edible cookie dough, Ben & Jerry’s has also released their recipe for the dough so you can make it right at home.
Are you a fan of raw cookie dough or do you prefer baking it?
