There’s no denying it — retro is in. From apps that make your pictures and videos look vintage to a retro typewriter that works with your tablet and even an electric version of Volkswagen’s retro bus, it seems like the new trend is definitely all about being out with the new and in with the old.
If you’re on board with all things vintage and retro, chances are you already have a few items of your own. But if you don’t have a stand mixer that fits into the theme, KitchenAid has just the thing for you. Their newest limited-edition heritage artisan model 5-qt mixer not only comes in a retro blue color, but also with a ceramic hobnail bowl!
The mixer is a smaller version of KitchenAid’s commercial-size models. Despite its more compact size, it also has enough power and capacity to prepare large batches of cake batter or cookie dough without compromising counter space. The mixer also features 10 speeds, from slow stirring to fast beating, and is compatible with a number of optional attachments.
But even with all that, it’s the ceramic bowl that really makes it shine with retro glory. Simply put — this is the mixer grandma would have definitely wanted in her kitchen. And now, we want it too!
There is one little downside, however — it’ll run you around $500 regardless of where you buy it, including Williams-Sonoma or directly from KitchenAid. If that’s a bit out of your price range, you can get the same mixer with a stainless steel bowl instead for $100 less, as seen below.
If that’s still too much, Williams-Sonoma actually offers quite a few retro kitchen items for much less. We are kind of in love with this seriously adorable Smeg two-slice toaster, captured below. The kitchen gadget comes in eight different colors and currently retails for $149.
Will you be adding this new KitchenAid mixer or some other retro devices to your collection?
