This Is The Best Way To Stretch Your Back After Sitting In A Desk All Day

The struggle of sitting in a desk all day is real. Sure, it may seem nice to not have to be on your feet all day, but your posture can really struggle after hours and hours of sitting. And don’t even get me started on the back pains.

If you’re a fellow desk-job worker, then you likely need a nice, long stretch at the end of the day. Yoga guru and founder of Yoga Medicine, Tiffany Cruikshank, showed The L.A. Times the perfect way to stretch your back out after a hours of being in a seated position.

It’s a simple move that can be done by anyone and everyone. All you need is something you can loop around your foot like a tie, scarf, towel or resistance band. Then, simply lie down with one leg in the air and feel a good stretch in your lower back. Ahh, doesn’t that sound amazing?

Here are the steps, courtesy of YouTuber, Liz Nierzwicki:

Once you’ve gotten your tie-like object. Lie down on your back.

Take the strap and loop it around the top of your foot.

Next, extend your leg in a way that’s comfortable for you.

If you can get your leg pointed straight up into the air (like Liz), that’s great. If not, leave the extended leg slightly bent. Once you’re comfortable, hold your leg there for 1-2 minutes. Then, switch sides.

This move is sure to work wonders for your lower back, making that desk job all the more bearable. What are you waiting for? Get to stretching!

This Easy 15-Minute Morning Yoga Routine Will Wake You Up Better Than Coffee

Yoga can be a great and very easy way to get your body and mind ready for the day.  According to Yoga instructor Brett Larkin, a quick 15-minute session can clear the mind, loosen up the body, and wake you up better than a cup of coffee.

Next time you are struggling to get out of bed, try walking over to a mat or any carpeted area and follow these basic exercises. The poses should wake you up but also stretch out your hips, shoulders, and back.

The good news is that the above routine is perfect for those who have never done Yoga before.

We Can’t Believe This Turkish Guy Is Actually 95 Years Old

Humans have been searching for the fountain of youth for a long long time. You can certainly try eating healthier, sleeping better, or exercising more, but purportedly 95-year-old Yogi Kazim Gurbuz has acquired some wisdom along the years. I mean, look at the guy! Can you believe he’s 95?! Seriously.

Apparently a car crash at the age of 41 that left him paralyzed was the trigger to revamping his lifestyle. The youthful looking 95-year-old Yogi credits his health and longevity to his daily routine of yoga, swimming and a healthy diet, including pinto beans, olives and honey.

“We can live to be 130 years old,” says Kazim. “Everyone has the power.”

So this is a pretty crazy story if true, but we can’t argue with how great the guy looks for his age.
