Drinking enough water each day is extremely important. Dehydration can cause fatigue, hunger, and even problems with your skin, making it especially essential to sip water throughout your day.
However, most of us don’t spend too much time thinking about filling up on the drink, as we are often distracted by work and other habits such as eating well or exercising.
Luckily, there’s a fun and easy way to encourage yourself to drink enough water daily, and it’s simple as getting a water bottle along with a few rubber bands.
Take your water bottle and place the rubber bands around it. Each time you finish drinking the bottle, you get to remove the bands and add them to your wrist.
If you have a standard 16.9oz water bottle, you should drink almost 4 water bottles a day.
You can even make the challenge more fun by using different colored bands to make things interesting.
It might not sound like much, but before you know it, you’ll find yourself excited by completing each bottle and being able to remove the band.
Not only will you feel the intrinsic reward of completing a task, but you may find your mood improving, your energy levels rising, and maybe even your waistline shrinking.
How Much Water You Should Drink
The standard used to be “eight 8-oz glasses a day.” But according to WebMD, you should drink one-half an ounce to an ounce of water for each pound of body weight. So if you weight 165 pounds, you should drink between 82 and 15 ounces of water a day.
Depending on the amount you exercise and the type of climate you live in (hot vs. cooler), you may need to adjust your intake.
