You Can Purchase ‘Parks And Recreation’ Props And Feel Like A Pawnee Citizen, Once And For All!
There are over 100 items up for grabs!
If you’ve ever wanted to live in the greatest city on Earth, aka Pawnee, Indiana, then this is very exciting news for you. NBC has teamed up with a company called Screenbid to auction off props that were used on “Parks and Recreation,” including t-shirts, mugs and so much more. In other words, you can finally feel like you’re part of Pawnee’s Parks and Recreation Department, which for many of us, means we’ll finally get to live out our dreams.
“Parks and Recreation” may have officially ended back in 2015, but that doesn’t mean fans have stopped watching the show on Netflix. For many, Leslie Knope, Ron Swanson, Tom Haverford and the show’s other characters still live on through TV our screens. The fact that fans could own pieces from the actual set is pretty incredible.
According to the Screenbid website, the auction begins on Nov. 27 at exactly 10 a.m. PST and ends at the same time on Dec. 1. So, you’ll only have a few days to place your bids!
Thankfully, there are over 100 items up for grabs. Take a look at some of what the auction has to offer:
1. Knope 2012 T-Shirt
Remember when Knope was running against Bobby Newport for the City Council election? Of course you do! Now you can finally show that you were Team Knope all the way!
2. Li’l Sebastian Sweatshirt
No one could forget the incredible Li’l Sebastian, who was the greatest at being a mini-horse. This sweatshirt will help you commemorate the animal, who will forever live on in our hearts. As Andy’s song for his band MouseRat goes, Li’l Sebastian, “You’re 5,000 candles in the wind!”
3. Johnny Karate Signed Poster
Who wouldn’t want a signed picture from the Johnny Karate? Andy’s alter-ego was much more kid-friendly than Burt Macklin, and it led to a successful TV show that any “Parks and Recreation” fan would have loved to watch in real life!
4. Entertainment 720 Dollars
With all this fake money in your hands, you’ll finally be able to make it rain like Tom and Jean-Ralphio.
5. Sweetums ‘Small’ Soda Cup
People in Pawnee love Sweetums, and they’re not about to cut down on their portions! Leslie tried to get the size “small” cup to be an accurate representation of the word “small,” and was met with much opposition. But hey, “If you can’t beat ’em, Sweetums.” An embroidered apron is also up for bidding, so you’ll be able to feel like a real Sweetums chef. Only wear it to make the sweetest of desserts!
Not only will fans who participate in the auction feel like they’re citizens of Pawnee, they will also get to donate to a good cause. All proceeds of the auction go to the LA Conservation Corps, which works to provide at-risk youth with skills training, work experience and more. Find even more information on how the auction process works on the Screenbid website.
Become the proud owner of “Parks and Recreation” props (that will go great in your scrapbook!) and contribute to a great cause all at the same time? Leslie Knope would be so proud!
