Here’s The Fastest And Easiest Way To Cut A Watermelon

While summer is quickly approaching its end, there’s still time for a few late summer and early fall picnics. And of course every picnic has to come with a standard fruit salad. One of the staples of fruit salad is watermelon, but it can be frustrating and tedious to cut.

Fortunately, we’ve found a way to make cutting a watermelon much easier. Watch this video to see how to quickly cut a watermelon into cubes within mere minutes.

Grumpy Cat Has Nothing On This Grumpy Baby

Babies are known for being cute and happy, right? Well, not this one. No matter what his mom does, the boy rebels, refusing to smile.

It’s like watching an SNL sketch—this boy was cast to not smile, no matter what. And his mother tries.

She tickles him, makes faces, pushes his cheeks in, adjusts his eyebrows… it’s as though she’s testing his facial functioning, giving him some odd face massage, or testing his resistance to break character.

I’ll telling you, he must have gone to Juilliard in the womb. At long last, when his mother starts laughing at the boy’s stubbornness and (cute) angry face, he laughs—just for a second (so don’t blink!) but still.

Then he goes back to his unhappy face, and his mother goes back to attempting him to smile all over again. To no avail.

Before Grumpy Baby, there was Grumpy Dog (Earl).

Grumpy Dog

Earlthegrump became renowned online when his owner, Derek Bloomfield of Iowa, posted a picture of Earl on Reddit.

He received over two million views and, as of this writing, earlthegrump has 26.8k followers on Instagram (from just 38 posts). Even though it looks like Earl never smiles, which is because of an underbite, his owner told the Mirror that he is very friendly.

A second generation puggle (his parents were crossbreeds, too), Earl is a pug and beagle mix.

He is the most relaxed, content puppy either one of us [he and his girlfriend] has ever seen. Whenever he wants something he’ll calmly sit down and stare at us until we ask him the right question. Then he wags his tail in approval. He’s constantly trying to snuggle up to one of us and has us in constant fits of laughter through his facial expressions and mannerisms. He’s a daddy’s boy and loves to pick on his momma.” –Bloomfield said about earlthegrump

Bloomfield told the Mirror, “People usually say ‘Oh my God, he is so cute. Is he always that grumpy?’”

Of course, before Grumpy Dog, there was Grumpy Cat.

Grumpy Cat

This ultra-popular, “sad” cat (aka Tardar Sauce) also has an Instagram page: 869k (!!) followers (from just 523 posts). His droopy eyes make him look like he stepped out of an animated movie and is about to start speaking, right?

Just yesterday, August 26th, it was announced that Grumpy Cat will be immortalized at Madame Tussauds. “This is truly an honor… I hate it,” said Grumpy Cat.

He will be animatronic and have five different movements. He will first appear in San Francisco, then five other cities in the U.S. Here he is modeling for his wax figure.

Before Grumpy Cat’s latest news, he recently landed a deal with Friskies as well. It seems like the feline has nothing to be grumpy about.

Bride And Groom Create Epic Music Video With The Help Of 250 Wedding Guests

This may be one of the most creative wedding videos we’ve found yet. Robert and Theresa had one pretty amazing start to their big day: the making of a one-take, 250-person music video. All the guests had instructions and props under their seats so they knew exactly what to do for their spot in the performance.

The video uploader, Robert Ly said “If you know Robert & Teresa, it should be no surprise that this superhero-themed wedding turned into an epic mashup of all kinds of crazy.  I mean, they do own a Ninja themed sushi restaurant so they quite enjoy crazy.”

Tourist Takes Dubai Cab Driver On A (Rollercoaster) Ride He’ll Never Forget

When’s the last time you did something nice for a stranger? Liam Murphy, from Cork, Ireland, did on August 16th, when he took his Dubai cab driver to an amusement park.

Murphy, a test engineer, was on a business trip in the United Arab Emirates, but decided to spend his Sunday at Ferrari World, an indoor theme park.

When he found out that his taxi driver, Shakiha, had never been to the park—in his 14 years living in the area!—and planned on waiting in the cab—for four hours(!!)—Murphy asked Shakiha to tag along.

Murphy bought him a ticket (approximately $68) and that was that.

“When I asked him what he would do when I am in the park for four hours, he said he normally just waits in the car,” Murphy told Emirates 24/7. “And I thought to myself, the price of the ticket is not that much [starts at Dh250] so why don’t I just bring him along.”

On his Facebook page that day, Murphy posted:

“Got a taxi from Dubai to Abu Dhabi today. Indian taxi driver living here 14 yrs yet was never in Ferrari World. He was going to wait in the car for 4 hrs. Today I made his dreams come true for the laugh….‘I will pray God for you sir’….some craic with the hoore all day. His first ever roller coaster ride was on the fastest in the world. ‘I do not feel well sir’. Shakiha will sleep well tonight [sic].”

The first roller coaster they rode was the Formula Rossa, the fastest in the world, which goes up to 240 kilometers per hour and from 0 to 100km/h in two seconds. When Murphy was asked if Shakiha liked it, Murphy said to Emirates 24/7, “He refused to go on it again.” (Do you blame him?! Though pretty impressive, right?)

The men continued going on more rides, like the Fiorano GT Challenge (whose cars resemble the Ferrari F430 Spider) and had their picture taken along the way.  “I was going to get him a copy of the pictures we took there but he refused,” Murphy said. “I guess he didn’t see the value in it.”

“He was great entertainment,” Murphy said to BuzzFeed. I bought him some pizza on the way home. His family is in India and he said he sends money home each month. I felt sorry for him.”

If only there were more Murphy types in the world, it would be a better place. Hopefully, though, it’ll encourage you to pay it forward and do something nice and unexpected for someone you come across, cab driver or not.

Drone Discovers Man Sunbathing On Top Of 200-Foot-Tall Wind Turbine

What does it take to find some peace and quiet these days?  Even a guy trying to catch some rays on top of this 200 foot wind turbine can’t get any privacy.

As reported by the Daily News, Kevin Miller, the drone pilot, was getting some footage of this wind turbine in Rhode Island and when he got to the top of the turbine, he found a man just relaxing and trying to work on his tan.

Miller told the Mirror, “Upon landing he saw me bring the drone down and was leaning over the edge. I looked up and waved to him and he waved back.”

Use This Trick For Cutting Apples To Keep Them Fresh All Day

Fall is approaching very quickly. It’s one of my favorite times of the year. What’s not to like? You’ve got football, sleeping with the windows open, beautiful foliage, and of course the apples (Honeycrisps are my favorite).

Apples are a great addition to lunches and provide a healthy snacking option.

However, it can be a real pain to cut them up and keep them fresh. Luckily, Grant Thompson, shows us this amazingly simple trick to quickly, easily and safely cut an apple and keep it fresh all day.

Here are the 3 steps:

  1. Turn the apple upside down (on its top) as it will balance better.
  2. Cut the apple as if you are laying out a tic-tac-toe board with your knife.
  3. Keep the cut pieces together until you are ready to eat (a rubber band is perfect for this).
