How To Make Colorful Rice Krispies Treat Easter Eggs

You'll want to hide these Easter eggs where only you can find them!

If you’re looking for the most adorably colorful and festive Easter treats to make for the kiddos, or just the young at heart, look no further. We just discovered these Rice Krispies Treat Easter eggs from Passion Savings, and they are SO easy to make.

Kids will love joining in the fun and making these simple treats with you. Of course, the core ingredients are the same as traditional Rice Krispies Treats: Rice Krispies, butter and marshmallows. But then you add some food coloring and plastic eggs to the mix, and Easter fun is made.

Just start making the eggs the way you would regular Rice Krispies treats, then separate the mixture into various bowls, depending on how many different colors you’d like to create. Warning: These will be so popular in your house that you’ll want to make a double batch. Actually, a triple batch. Trust us.

For a slightly different take, you can check out this recipe from Two Sisters Crafting. To make them, all you have to do is make a three-cup batch of Rice Krispie Treat mixture. The recipe notes to make sure to add food coloring before you add the Rice Krispie cereal. Then cover your hands in a small amount of butter, grab a handful of the Rice Krispie Treat mixture and use your hands to form the Easter eggs.

If you don’t want to use your hands to shape the various colorful creations, you can also use the regular plastic Easter eggs as little molds. Check out an example from Instagram user @grokgrace below:
