Life-Size ‘Nightmare Before Christmas’ Characters Move And Talk
If you love Jack and Sally, you need these!
It’s hard to believe that it has been more than a quarter of a century since Disney introduced us to Jack Skellington and the other wonderfully creepy cast of characters in the film “The Nightmare Before Christmas” in 1993. Since then, the movie has become a cult classic. Jack and his love interest, Sally, have gained fans in multiple generations. They have also become staples in Halloween decor.
While Halloween might look a little different in 2020 than in previous years, there’s no reason to hold off on dressing up your home for the holiday. In fact, it might be just the thing to lift your spirits (Halloween … spirits … see what we did there?), especially if Jack and Sally are involved.
If you’re not a frequent shopper at the world’s largest home improvement retailer, it might surprise you to learn that Home Depot is an excellent source of decorations for all sorts of holidays, including Halloween. This year, the retailer is selling Jack and Sally decorations that are not only life-size but are animated as well.
Jack is 77 inches tall, and Sally is 70 inches tall. They are both animatronic, prompted to move when they detect sound or motion nearby. Jack’s mouth, hand and arm move while he makes 12 sounds, including phrases from the movie. Sally’s eyes blink and her arm moves as she sings her song in the film.
These decorations require some assembly, although they reportedly take only 10 minutes to put together. Although they are designed for use indoors, Jack comes with a tether and stakes. However, they are electronic and must be plugged into an electrical outlet to work, so it is recommended that you enjoy them indoors or in a location safe from the elements.
Both Jack and Sally are currently available on the Home Depot website. Each runs just under $200. The retailer also carries several other “Nightmare Before Christmas” decorations, including a huge Oogie Boogie inflatable.
