Think back to this morning and all the coffee you had to wake up. And how many cups did you drink to stay awake throughout the day? There might be a solution to keep up your energy without a cup of coffee. You can now eat a spoonful of caffeinated peanut butter for a boost of energy.

Two tablespoons of the peanut butter offers 150 mg of caffeine, whereas a standard 8-ounce cup of coffee offers 95-200 mg of caffeine, per the Mayo Clinic. According to STEEM, unlike coffee, the slow digestion of peanut butter provides a consistent release of energy. The caffeinated peanut butter is meant to free people from fatigue by also providing protein and electrolytes in addition to caffeine. CNN reports that the founders originally concocted the product as a hangover cure.
Along with giving you a boost of energy, the product doesn’t use artificial sweeteners. Only natural peanut butter and caffeine extracted from coffee beans are used in creating the item.
“But I love coffee!” you may be thinking, and it seems you can eat your caffeinated peanut butter and have your coffee, too. When it comes to coffee drinking co-founder Keith Barnofski explained to Vox, “You almost get a concentration of the caffeine and it wears off quicker.” He continued to say, “The peanut butter lasts for a longer time so it tends to be a little more mellow of a caffeine experience.”
The company recommends that you should enjoy its peanut butter the way you normally would. Spread the butter on crackers, fruit or even take it back to your youth with a good PB&J sandwich.
