This Dad Showed Up In His Son’s Class After Getting Complaints About His Behavior
This dad employed an unconventional form of discipline in response to his son's behavior.
Brad Howard, Jr. is a junior at Rockwall-Heath High School in the Dallas suburb of Heath, Texas. The handsome 17-year-old plays varsity football, throws a mean discus and appears to have a propensity for chattiness during class.

In fact, Brad Howard, Sr., pastor of Lakeshore Church in Rockwall, and his wife Denise were so fed up with complaints from teachers that Mr. Howard made a promise/threat to his son. After Brad, Jr.’s physics teacher notified his parents multiple times about this ongoing problem, Mr. Howard gave a single warning.
“If you do this again, if we get another note from your teacher, I’m going to come up there and sit with you in class,” said the senior Howard.
Only a couple days later, Mr. and Mrs. Howard received yet another notice from the exasperated physics teacher. It was a Thursday.
Parents everywhere can attest to the fact that they sometimes threaten their children with certain forms of punishment on which they don’t actually follow through.
However, Mrs. Howard was not letting this happen.
Yahoo News reports that she woke her husband the very next day, reminding him that he needed to join their son at school. She even notified the teacher that he would be there. Mr. Howard says he got ready and went, but was not prepared for what might happen.
He arrived in the classroom before Brad got there. He took a seat in the chair next to his son’s. Brad’s classmates seemed delighted by the visitor.
“Bradley, not so much,” Mr. Howard said.
Once he realized his father was there, in fact, he seemed shocked. Brad, Sr. took a selfie, primarily to prove to his wife that he had kept his word. His daughter Molli got ahold of the photo, posted it on Twitter and the rest is history.

Unfortunately, the disciplinary action may have backfired.
“This method for discipline did not achieve the ultimate results I hoped it would,” Mr. Howard admitted. “He loves attention so him getting all this attention now, he’s kind of happy.”
We still think he deserves a “Dad of the Year” nomination.
