7-Eleven Is Making A Nerds Slurpee That Tastes Like Strawberry And Grape

This will bring back some childhood memories!

While one could argue that all candy is the best candy, I’d say that those candies you can literally pour into your mouth are the shining stars. I’m talking M&Ms, Skittles and — a personal favorite from my childhood — Nerds!

Those tiny little boxes that rattle when you shake them, filled with tangy, crunchy candy, were always at the top of my list when it came to what I was hoping to get during a night of trick-or-treating. And now, 7-Eleven is taking that candy and stepping it up a notch with a brand new Nerds-flavored Slurpee!

The limited-time flavor is a combination of two Nerds flavors: Seriously Strawberry and Gotta-Have Grape. 7-Eleven collaborated with Ferrara Candy Company, the maker of Nerds, to create the exclusive flavor described as “delicious, tangy grape and strawberry that taste just like your favorite Nerds candy.”

7-Eleven proprietary beverages product director Jacob Barnes says Slurpee customers, particularly younger ones, like to create their own frozen treat by mixing their favorite candy and Slurpee flavors, so this new treat seems to make perfect sense.

“When we started hearing social media chatter that people were suggesting we come out with a Nerds Slurpee, we thought it was a great idea,” Barnes said in a press release. “And if Slurpee fans want to mix their Nerds Slurpee drinks with Nerds candy, even better. Nerds candy is one of the best-selling non-chocolate candy brands in our stores.”

Nerds candy first hit the U.S. market in 1983 and was deemed “candy of the year” by the National Candy Wholesalers Association in 1985. The box has two compartments, each filled with a separate flavor. That means you can choose to eat just one flavor, like grape or strawberry, or combine both.

Participating 7-Eleven stores are offering a medium-sized version of the new flavor for just $1 via the 7Rewards app for a limited time. Will you be trying the new Nerds Slurpee?
